ORELA English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Practice Exam

Formative assessments are designed to monitor student progress and inform instruction during the learning process. They provide ongoing feedback that helps teachers identify areas where students may be struggling and adjust their teaching strategies accordingly. This type of assessment can take various forms, such as quizzes, observations, discussions, or informal assessments, allowing teachers to gauge understanding in real-time.

By focusing on the learning process, formative assessments enable educators to tailor their instruction to meet the specific needs of their students, promoting a more individualized approach to learning. This is particularly important in an ESOL context, where students may have varying levels of language proficiency and cultural backgrounds. The feedback gathered from formative assessments allows for immediate intervention and support, ultimately enhancing student learning and outcomes.
